College is one of the most exciting times in any adolescent’s life. However, with all of that excitement comes a lot of responsibility and independence. The following list of apps will help prepare your child for this transition.

1. Freedom: This is a must-have for every college student! This app helps you avoid any distractions on your device. The Freedom application blocks certain websites that can distract you from studying, and it does it for a set amount of time. That means no Facebook, Snapchat, or Instagram interruptions! FREE

2. Studious: Studious is another must-have for those students who struggle with the planning, prioritizing, and organizing of when upcoming assignments and projects are due. Studious will also remind you of when your exams are approaching and even allow you to email professors and take notes. $1.99

3. Any.Do: Any.Do is great for task organization! It helps create to-do lists and also synchronize all tasks with other devices so that the list can be accessed from anywhere. You can change the priority of your entry, mark a task as completed, or totally remove all completed tasks from it. FREE

4. Dropbox: Dropbox allows you to upload a variety of different files so you can gain access to them online whenever you need, even if you forget your phone at home. The only thing needed to access your files is an Internet connection. You also have the capability of storing your files and sharing them with anyone without any fear of losing important, useful data. FREE

5. EasyBib: EasyBib helps create a list of citations for your bibliography. You simply enter the book’s title and you get the right citation. All you have to do is copy this citation into your bibliography. FREE

6. Snap2PDF: Snap2PDF allows you to simply take a picture of a needed text and then it easily converts that picture into a PDF file. $1.99

7. Mint.com: Because learning how to budget is a critical life-lesson to learn about, I highly recommend this app. Mint.com helps you control your budget and it shows what your money is usually spent on. FREE
