Don’t Take Our Word For It: VBS success via speech therapy

Posted by: childandfamily

A parent shares this good news about summer camp success:

“<My son> went to Vacation Bible School last week.   He was familiar with the church classrooms and playground and a few of the kids, but many of the kids and teachers were new for him.  His teachers were so impressed with his language skills and his ability to tell other kids how he was feeling.  A few times, the teachers started to say something to other kids and <my son> would speak up for himself to solve a problem.

I also had a chance to observe him in the group activities and was thrilled that he talked with a few of the kids he knew.  He still had some trouble mixing in on the playground, but he stayed near the other kids.

He absolutely could not have done this last summer.  He is so in control of himself because of the verbal skills you have helped him attain both in individual and group speech therapy.  This is really, truly life changing for him.  I almost cried a few times seeing him be able to interact with other kids and participate in group singing and storytelling time.

WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!  You truly are the BEST!!!!!”
