Speech therapists, Stephanie Tolley MS CCC-SLP and Kristin Lyman MA CCC-SLP at the Pineville office of Child and Family Development, recently completed a professional education course titled Feeding Therapy: A Sensory-Motor Approach, offered by Talk Tools®.
The class reflects new research and understanding of sensory processing and the impact on feeding. Pre-feeding exercises designed to develop the motor skills for safe, effective, nutritive feeding and therapeutic feeding techniques are targeted.
Both ladies benefited from the information and will incorporate it into their evaluation and treatment of children and teens with feeding and swallowing difficulties.
