About Me

Missy is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor who loves helping children, teens, adults, and families feel more connected, confident, and understood. She brings a warm, creative, and down-to-earth approach to therapy, with a special passion for working with children and the people who love them most. With experience as both a therapist and former educator, she understands that when big feelings, anxiety, behavior challenges, trauma, or parenting stress show up, the whole family feels it—and no one should have to figure it out alone.

Missy specializes in Play Therapy, Expressive Arts, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment-Based approaches, Mindfulness, and Family Systems work. She has additional training in emotional regulation and brain development, executive functioning, sand tray work, and parent coaching and training. Whether she is supporting a child with big emotions, an adult navigating anxiety or trauma, or a parent carrying the weight of parenting stress, Missy helps clients make sense of what is happening beneath the surface and build practical tools for more calm, connection, and steadiness in daily life.
Her style is eclectic, client-centered, and full of heart. Missy blends structure with creativity to meet each client where they are—using play, art, stories, reflection, and practical strategies to make therapy feel approachable, engaging, and real. She creates a space where kids can grow, adults can exhale, and families can feel supported instead of stuck. She especially values partnering with parents and caregivers and believes meaningful change happens when everyone has better language, better tools, and a little more hope.

Missy earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University and has specialized training working with clients across the lifespan, from young children to adults. She has extensive experience supporting ADHD, ASD, anxiety, trauma, developmental and life transitions, and parenting stress, and she brings energy, empathy, and intention to helping each client and family move toward greater resilience, insight, and connection.

Missy is licensed to provide telehealth counseling to clients in both North Carolina and South Carolina.
