About Me

Missy is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor who works with children, adolescents, adults, and families through a creative, compassionate, and developmentally informed lens. With a background as both a therapist and former educator, she connects deeply with children and understands the unique challenges they face—especially those who are neurodiverse, anxious, or navigating emotional and behavioral struggles.

Missy specializes in Play Therapy, Expressive Arts, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Attachment-Based approaches, Mindfulness, and Family Systems work. She has additional training in emotional regulation and brain development, executive functioning, sand tray work, and parent coaching and training. Missy also facilitates groups focused on building executive functioning skills and has extensive experience supporting neurodiverse clients and individuals coping with anxiety.

Her therapeutic style is eclectic and client-centered, blending structure with creativity to meet each child right where they are. Whether using art, stories, play, or practical strategies, Missy aims to create a safe, nurturing space for growth, healing, and connection. Her work is naturally collaborative, often partnering with parents to support and strengthen the entire family system.

Missy earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University and has specialized training working with all ages, from 3 to adults, with ADHD, ASD, Anxiety, and in the midst of developmental and life transitions.
