About Me
Christy is an Educational Specialist with over 25 years of experience in teaching and educational leadership. She provides comprehensive educational evaluations, as well as individualized, evidence-based instruction, to support children on their educational path.
Christy earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Miami University and a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Western Carolina University. She is a Certified member of the Orton-Gillingham Academy since 2004. Her experience includes middle and high school general education teacher, special education teacher, exceptional children program director, and educational diagnostician.
Christy has worked with a wide range of clients ages 4 through 19, including those with Specific Learning Disorders (Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia), Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and Intellectual Disabilities, employing personalized, explicit, and multisensory educational practices.
Specializations & Interests:
• Educational evaluations for specific learning disorders, specifically dyslexia and dysgraphia
• Orton-Gillingham language therapy
• Multisensory math intervention
• Parent consultations and advocacy for special education services (IEP and 504 Plans)

Reading Specialist since 2000, Exceptional Children Program Coordinator from 2010-2020, and joined C&FD in 2020
Outside of Work
When Christy isn’t working with families, she enjoys walking with her dog, boating, and listening to live music.
