About Me

Specializing in child and adolescent psychology, Dr. Cecily Gadaire is a caring and committed psychologist with over 4 years of experience. She utilizes diagnostic evaluation and child and family therapy to enable children and families to achieve their goals and thrive.

Dr. Gadaire earned her Ph.D. in Clinical Health Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She completed her predoctoral internship at the Boys Town Center for Behavioral Health, where she worked as part of an interdisciplinary team to address the complex mental health needs of youth and their families. Dr. Gadaire has training in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), Functional Family Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). She also has extensive experience conducting diagnostic evaluations for children 18-months through college-age. Dr. Gadaire creates a warm and inviting space for families to develop a better understanding of their child’s unique needs and empower them to promote change. She takes a solution-focused approach to treatment, integrating a variety of creative strategies to support children and families.

Dr. Gadaire has worked with a wide range of clients, including those with autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, trauma, anxiety, and depression. She enjoys working with children of all ages but has a particular fondness for working with adolescents and with the parents of young children. Dr. Gadaire takes an integrative, family-based approach to therapy. She believes in working closely with the child, as well as the systems around the child (e.g., school, parents) to ensure long-term success.

Outside of Work

When Dr. Gadaire isn’t working with families, she enjoys playing with her young son, making sourdough bread, and being outside. As a Charlotte native, she loves seeing the city grow and trying new restaurants and coffee shops around town.
