About Me
Dr. Caroline Leonczyk is dedicated to providing warm, client-centered care to children and families, with a special focus on supporting neurodivergent children. She primarily conducts comprehensive psychological assessments for children ages 18 months to 6 years, specializing in autism, genetic syndromes, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental differences. Dr. Leonczyk is skilled in complex differential diagnosis and provides thorough evaluations, valuing collaboration with parents, therapists, and teachers to ensure a better understanding of each child’s unique strengths and needs.
Dr. Leonczyk is committed to creating an affirming environment for neurodivergent individuals. She continually seeks new knowledge and perspectives to enhance her practice, striving to provide care that respects and celebrates neurodiversity.
Dr. Leonczyk earned her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her doctorate from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She completed her internship at Duke University Medical Center and her postdoctoral fellowship at Rush University Medical Center, AARTS Autism Center.
Before moving to Charlotte, Dr. Leonczyk was an assistant professor at Rush University Medical Center, in the AARTS Autism Center. She was involved in research on autism and rare genetic syndromes throughout her training, and served as a clinician for research studies while on faculty at Rush. Dr. Leonczyk has advanced training in the administration, scoring, and interpretation of autism assessment measures, including the ADOS-2 and ADI-R. Through her work in clinical trials, Dr. Leonczyk achieved “research reliability” in both the ADOS-2 and ADI-R, reflecting high fidelity and accuracy in administering these assessments. She is skilled not only in using these tools, but also in understanding their limitations and integrating them within the broader clinical context to support accurate diagnoses.
In addition, Dr. Leonczyk has training in interventions for autistic individuals, including specialized training in intervention for toddlers.

• Psychological assessments for children ages 18 months to 6 years.
• Dr. Leonczyk can also provide consultation to parents of infants and toddlers younger than 18 months who have concerns about social communication development.
Experience
Licensed since 2018, and joined C&FD in 2022.
Outside of Work
When Dr. Leonczyk isn’t working with families, she enjoys spending time with loved ones. She cares about supporting her community to promote overall well-being.
