Jessica Cornman DPT is a physical therapist at the Pineville office of Child and Family Development. Recently, she reviewed the results of a recent study about the importance and benefits of regular movement and activities during the school day.

The study reveals that brief intervals of exercise during otherwise sedentary periods may offset the lack of more sustained exercise and could protect children against diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancer, according to a small study by researchers at the National Institutes of Health.

Jessica certainly endorses this recommendation for both children and adults.
