Child and Family Development psychologists are pleased to announce this new program for preschool aged children.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Fun, interactive materials based on the Social Thinking® model will be utilized to improve self-awareness, self-monitoring, self regulation and flexible social skills.  The program will include instruction, group activities and play within a positive, supportive, kid-friendly environment.  Acquisition of skills can lead to improved social functioning and behavior at home, school and in the community, leading to more social engagement, healthier relationships with others as well as increased self esteem and self confidence.

This program is for 4-5 year old boys and girls. Participants should:

  • have social difficulties as a result of autism (ASD), attention difficulties (like ADHD) or other social communication challenges
  • have average to above average receptive and expressive language skills
  • be able to follow simple directions
  • be able to engage in a lesson for at least 15 minutes without wandering off

A parent handout will be provided after each session that reviews content and offers suggestions for continued practice at home.

OFFERINGS

The program is scheduled for August 21st-25th.

Each session will be 120 minutes in length and meet Monday-Friday from 9-11am.

Additional programs for other ages and other difficulties may be offered as interest exists.

COST

This program is offered in a 5 session bundle. Full payment of $500.00 is required at the time of enrollment.  These sessions are not billable to insurance and are non-refundable.

Unexpected provider-canceled sessions will be rescheduled to a designated make-up date and offered at no additional cost.

To ensure optimal placement, a diagnostic interview is required before enrolling to review presenting concerns and medical history. This service may be billable to insurance.  Most of our psychologists are in-network with Aetna and BCBS.

Daily attendance is strongly encouraged to build continuity of skills. Attendees make more progress with consistent attendance to review and practice skills.
