About Me

Gretchen is a clinical neuropsychologist with over 15 years of experience at C&FD, where she has devoted her career to supporting children with complex developmental, neurological, and learning needs. She is deeply passionate about helping kids understand their strengths, overcome challenges, and gain access to the services that allow them to thrive. Gretchen believes strongly in empowering families with knowledge, compassion, and practical tools—ensuring they never feel alone as they navigate their child’s needs.

Her clinical focus includes comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations for children with complex profiles, as well as ADHD evaluations and parent education groups. Gretchen especially enjoys helping parents build confidence, skills, and strategies they can use at home to support their child’s growth and emotional well-being.

Gretchen completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology at UNC–Chapel Hill (Go Heels!), a Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling at the University of Florida, and a PhD in Counseling Psychology from the University of Georgia. She completed an additional two-year postdoctoral fellowship in clinical neuropsychology.

In addition to clinical care, Gretchen is passionate about training the next generation of behavioral health providers. She provides clinical supervision to associate level counseling LCMHCA clinicians, serves as Training Director for the APPIC postdoctoral program at C&FD, and loves teaching evidence-based approaches that help children and families flourish. She is an active member of the Mecklenburg Psychological Association and leads the Early Career Psychologist mentoring program.

Outside of Work

When she’s not supporting families, Gretchen enjoys camping with her family and two dogs. She is married to another neuropsychologist in Charlotte, and is proud to be a Charlotte native serving her community at C&FD.
