The Hanen Program – It Takes Two To Talk

The Hanen Program – It Takes Two To Talk is being offered at Child and Family Development, beginning in February 2014. This program focuses on teaching parents and caregivers of young children (birth to 5 years) how to encourage their child’s language development. It consists of a series of parent/caregiver classes and individualized videotaped feedback sessions. A Hanen evaluation is completed before the program begins.

The Hanen Program – It Takes Two To Talk is appropriate for children that are not yet intentionally communicating to children that are beginning to combine words. The child must also have an identified language delay. Parents and caregivers will learn how to identify their child’s current stage and style of communication and practical strategies for developing their child’s language skills. The program is led by a Hanen certified speech therapist.
