I am a North Carolina licensed and ASHA certified speech-language pathologist.
I have provided speech-language therapy at Child & Family Development since 1999. As a native Charlottean, I was thrilled to return to this city after completing graduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. For eleven years, I worked in the office to provide speech-language therapy to a variety of children with developmental delays, congenital deficits and other special needs. Over the past five years, I have shifted my services to provide off site therapy at several schools in the area. My undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, coupled with my advanced graduate training as a Speech-Language Pathologist, has afforded me the unique skill set to work with students in the school setting. Providing therapy at schools offers valuable collaboration with teachers. I am able to join forces with the educators in the classroom to impact a student’s educational and therapeutic growth. I believe in positive interactions with children to obtain their best effort.
I have a wide variety of training and expertise in the areas of speech and language development, auditory processing, and phonological processing.
