Marie Arrington MAT NCBT, educational specialist at the Pineville office of Child and Family Development, is leading a special summer reading groups for students with learning disabilities, including 2 groups just for boys based on the Hank Sipzer series by Henry Winkler!

The "Fonz", Henry Winkler struggled through his school years due to his undiagnosed dyslexia. However, as is clearly very evident today, he has achieved some remarkable things.  Every time he autographs his children's book, he writes, “You have greatness within you.” To read more about Henry Winkler’s life and experiences, and also learn more about the Hank Zipzer series, click here.

This greatness message is part of the I Can Read Too!: Summer Book Clubs too! Boys will not only work on decoding, building fluency, and improving comprehension, but they will also be able to participate in discussions with other boys who are going through similar experiences, whether it be in school or outside of school. Conversations will be open, sensitive, but also fun because these two books are FUN to read!
