I am a North Carolina licensed speech-language pathologist. I am certified by ASHA and the Neurodevelopmental Treatment Association.
I love working with babies and young children with neuro-motor disorders, feeding difficulties and apraxia. Watching children evolve from babies to little people gives me joy. I feel strongly that children have the best outcomes when treated in a multi-disciplinary setting like Child and Family Development. I have worked here since moving to Charlotte in 1989.
I knew in school that I wanted to work with young children. After graduate school, my real education as a therapist began as I took courses and found mentors in neuro-developmental therapy (NDT), other oral motor therapies and early language development. Through teaching workshops and becoming an instructor in the NDTA Certification courses, my understanding of the therapeutic process grew. My ‘bucket’ of treatment techniques is always growing. I continue to mentor clinicians at C&FD.
