Our Mission
Educational Services
meet our staff

Educational services include assessment, direct treatment, consultation, and parent advocacy. The focus of assessment is to develop an accurate picture of a child's educational strengths and weaknesses. Based on this information, our clinicians then develop an intervention plan that will assist teachers and parents in maximizing learning opportunities.

All too often, learning problems go undiagnosed until school-related difficulties arise. We offer Developmental Screenings for young children (3-5 years of age) to help offset potential learning difficulties. Parents can learn how well their child is progressing across a wide range of areas and be alerted to any potential developmental delays. Once a child's developmental strengths and weaknesses are identified and his/her learning style is established, the most appropriate learning environment can then be determined.

Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluations are available for children manifesting educational, psychological, or medical issues. These are frequently multi-disciplinary, involving other professionals as needed to provide a complete picture of your child.

Consultation with school personnel and other professionals is provided in conjunction with seeking appropriate options for education.

Educational Therapy is provided for children exhibiting specific learning difficulties in reading, mathematics, and/or written expression. Our clinicians develop treatment programs for children with specific learning disabilities, such as dyslexia and dysgraphia, using methods which reflect state of the art research methodology. Therapy is provided individually. Additional programs may focus on one or more of the following areas according to your child's needs: study skills/guided homework, organization and time management skills, multi-sensory literacy/reading readiness, handwriting/written expression/typing, EOG test preparation/test-taking strategies, and college preparation. Often, these areas are intensively addressed in small group sessions.
